With a small amount of room in their spacious (by Manhattan standards) apartment now available, I drove into the city to visit Justin and Carla on August 28th. Justin got tickets for us to see the first evening session of the 2000 U.S. Open tennis tournament. I didn't go wild with the camera because we were either too far away to get a good picture or too close where the flash would disturb the players. We saw Venus Williams and Andrei Agassi that evening at Arthur Ashe Stadium and later we caught about a set of another match out on Court 11.

I also took advantage of the proximity of the Empire State Building to the apartment to walk over there and do the tourist thing on the observation deck (take pictures):
