I once again hung around the Space Coast for a couple of days after the launch to watch the shuttle rendezvous with the space station and then headed up the East Coast to see everyone again.
Or, maybe not. I was headed up to see Dave and Stacey and the girls for a couple more days before our little mini-reunion in Sharpsburg. I decided to try an alternate route instead of crunching up Interstate 95, which has its many obstacles for long distance travelers -- obstacles such as Washington, D.C. and Baltimore. Maybe just other cars in those areas, really...
Anyway, the route I took was north up I-95 past Savannah, Georgia into South Carolina to Interstate 26, which would take me up to Columbia, where I would hit Interstate 77. From there, that would go up through Charlotte, North Carolina, into Virginia to Interstate 81. Then I would go up through Virginia to the Pennsylvania Turnpike, which would get me most of the rest of the way.

In theory, this seemed like it would a much less stressful drive, but in practice only half of the drive turned out to be that way. For some reason, there just seemed to be a lot more "travel challenged" drivers out on these roads that day.

Aside from that and poor navigational form missing the Pennsylvania Turnpike and getting stuck for a short time in Harrisburg traffic, the rest of the trip was fortunately uneventful and I got to Doylestown in the evening around sunset.
