August 9-10, 2004: Swampscott, Massachusetts

On Monday, August 9, I drove from Annapolis up to Boston, or, well, Swampscott.  Nico and Leigh are fairly new parents of Ella Margaret Sloss, who was turning six months old when I visited.  Ella is one of the happiest babies I can remember; she was almost all smiles when I was there.  Unfortunately, when I tried taking a picture of her, she nearly always became curious about the thing I would suddenly put in front of my face.  What I ended up doing a lot was taking short 40 second QuickTime movies...

Not a particularly good picture, or even in focus on the subjects, but this was the
best I got of Nico
Ella was rubbing her eyes so hard when she got tired that she cut herself on the nose...hence, the band-aid with a little Neosporin...

I did get a few good pictures on Tuesday, the 10th, when Leigh, Ella, and I walked down to the beach for lunch:

Maybe I should have given Leigh the camera to take more pictures of Ella!

I left on Wednesday, the 11th, but the next day was Nico and Leigh's fourth wedding anniversary.
