Well, back at the Kennedy Space Center...
After the journey down I-95 from Maryland, I made my way out to the space center's visitor complex to take some pictures of a somewhat unusual sight: two space shuttles on a launch pad at the same time. The picture above is of the normal Florida summer sauna above launch pad 39B, where Atlantis was soon to be ready to fly mission STS-104. On the other pad was Discovery, which was scheduled to fly about a month later.
I took a couple of pictures of myself with the view -- the sea breeze was quite brisk which did make things a bit more comfortable:
