Red eye was a slight coincidence over this weekend, though mostly to my Dad and I; very early on this day, the red eye made a conventional landing on a runway at the Philadelphia airport. Apparently America West Airlines is supposed to be a pretty bad airline (at least according to a recent survey published in Forbes magazine), but this flight landed in Philly a good twenty minutes early...which made it all the more annoying since we didn't get to a bloody gate for another 40-50 minutes. Like all the other mistakes over the weekend this was really nothing and forgotten other than to introduce the wedding weekend.
And Philadelphia for me to spend a morning with Stacey and her two daughters who make frequent appearances on these pages (as these pictures tend to explain):
Jamie, in particular, demonstrated this weekend that she has reached her prime entertaining years as a young child. I only wish I'd brought a video camera to tape some of the memorable things she did and said. I guess you had to be there...
After the morning and lunch with them, I pointed the not very spacious and not very sporty Dodge Neon rental car towards Long Island and pushed down on the accelerator. Then I jammed it to the floor and eventually I was on my way.
