The last stop on the way back to Portland was San Francisco to visit with Nico. Here is the one picture I took there, of Nico and Leigh in their place in the city:
Nico was studying for a master's at University of California, Berkeley. Leigh was teaching fifth graders. (Although not at the moment I saw them and not in their living room.)
That evening in Berkeley, I watched Nico's ultimate frisbee team as they steadily improve their scoring output in matches. (Unfortunately, their opponents scored rather more often.)
